Order to Show Cause. A petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus has been filed with the Court pursuant to 28 U.S.C. §2241. (ECF # 1 ). On October 9, 2026, petitioner filed an application for an order to show cause. (ECF # 6 ). Pursuant to 28 U.S.C. §2243, the Defendants having custody of the person detained shall have three (3) days in which to show cause why the writ should not be granted, and to certify the true cause of the detention. To allow necessary time for the government to fully respond, and considering that the deadline would otherwise fall on a weekend, the Court hereby orders that Defendant's response should be filed no later than midnight, Monday, October 19, 2026. The parties shall be prepared to appear for a potential hearing on the matter within fivedays after a response is filed. If Plaintiff intends to file a Reply in support of his motion, that Reply must be filed no later than midnight on October 23, 2026. Briefs shall contain a summary of the facts upon which they rely, statements of the applicable law, and citations to relevant case and statutory authority. IT IS SO ORDERED. Judge Donald C.
