ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE- The respondents shall, on or before September 18, 2026, make a return certifying the true cause and proper duration of the petitioner's detention and showing cause why the writ should not be granted. The respondents' answer must include the steps set forth within the order.The petitioner may reply in support of the petition on or before September 25, 2026. The respondents are enjoined from removing the petitioner from the United States and from the District of Nebraska until further order of the Court. If the petitioner has already been removed from Nebraska, the respondents are ordered to immediately return the petitioner to Nebraska. Ordered by Senior Judge John M. Gerrard. ORDER -For service of process on Respondent Gene Samuelson, in his official capacity as Phelps County Sheriff, the Clerk of the Court is directed to complete a summons form and a USM-285 form using this address, as specified in Neb. Rev. Stat. 67; 25-510.02(2) for service upon a county: Phelps County Clerk, PO Box 404, Holdrege, NE 68949. The Clerk shall then forward these completed forms, together with two copies each of the Petition (filing 1 ), the Court's Order to Show Cause (fi ling 3 ), and this Order, to the Marshals Service for service upon Respondent Samuelson by certified mail or other authorized method. See Fed. R. Civ. P. 4(e). The United States Marshal shall serve process on Samuelson in this case without prepayment of fees from the petitioner. Ordered by Senior Judge John M. Gerrard.
