MINUTE ORDER (text only): Petitioner's habeas petition improperly includes an "Emergency Request" for an order prohibiting Respondents from "removing Petitioner from the United States while this action is pending" and "transferring Petitioner outside Washington State without prior notice and approval from the Court[.]" Dkt. No. 1 at 8. Such request for relief belongs in a separate motion, not in a habeas petition. Fed. R. Civ. P. 7(b)(1). Even if the embedded motion were proper, the Court's scheduling order, Dkt. No. 2, largely moots this request, as the order requires Respondents to provide Petitioner "at least 7 days' notice prior to any action to move or transfer Petitioner from the Western District of Washington or to remove them from the United States." Should Respondents file provide notice of intent to transfer Petitioner, he may move for emergency relief as needed. Authorized by Judge Lauren King.
