ELECTRONIC Order: Antonio Flores Ortega, an ICE detainee at the Bluebonnet Detention Facility in Jones County, filed a pro se habeas petition under 28 U.S.C. § 2241, challenging his immigration detention.Because § 2241 petitions should be filed in the division where the petitioner is confined, venue is more appropriate in the Northern District of Texas Abilene Division. Pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 1406(a), and in the interest of justice, the Court TRANSFERS this case to the Abilene Division of the Northern District of Texas. 28 U.S.C. § 124(a)(3); N.D. Tex. Misc. Order No. 6 ("[M]agistrate judges are authorized... to sign orders transferring cases filed by prisoners... to the proper or more appropriate district or division.").
