PAPERLESS ORDER STRIKING emergency designation from the Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus (the “Petition”) [ECF No. 1]. Our Local Rules require a party using the emergency designation to certify that the petition or motion “in fact presents a true emergency” and “requires an immediate ruling because the Court would not be able to provide meaningful relief... after the expiration of seven days.” S.D. Fla. L.R. 7.1(d)(1). But the Petition contains no such certification and Guerrero-Jimenez hasn’t explained why we wouldn’t be able to provide relief after the expiration of seven days. See generally Petition. Rather, the Petition presents a fairly routine dispute regarding Guerroro-Jimenez’s request for a bond hearing. See Petition ¶¶ 67-73. Accordingly, the designation of the Petition as an “Emergency” is STRICKEN. The Petition will be adjudicated in the ordinary course. Signed by Judge Roy K. Altman on 8/28/2026.
