PAPERLESS ORDER denying 11 Motion for a Bond Hearing as duplicative. Petitioner filed a Petition for a Writ of Habeas Corpus under 28 U.S.C. § 2241, [ECF No. 1], alleging that his "continued detention violates the Due Process Clause of" the United States Constitution. Pet. at 7 (cleaned up). Liberally construed, the Petition seeks a bond hearing. United States v. Jordan, 915 F.2d 622, 624-25 (11th Cir. 1990) (Federal courts "have an obligation to look behind the label of a motion filed by a pro se inmate" to determine whether the motion is cognizable under "a different remedial statutory framework." (emphasis in original; citation omitted)).Petitioner has now filed a Motion for a Bond Hearing, [ECF No. 11], in which he asks to "be released under bond." Mot. at 1. Because the Motion seeks the same relief already requested in the Petition, it is duplicative. See Broche Heredia v. U.S. Immigr. & Customs Enf't, No. 26-cv-23265-KMW, ECF No. 5 (S.D. Fla. May 11, 2026) (Williams, J.) (striking motion where, "because Petitioner has already filed a habeas petition seeking the same relief," the motion "appears duplicative and unnecessary").
