See 28 U.S.C. § 2243 ("The writ... shall be returned within three days unless for good cause additional time... is allowed."); see In re Habeas Corpus Cases, 216 F.R.D. 52, 53 (E.D.N.Y. 2003). On or before August 13, the government is directed to file a response, not to exceed fifteen double-spaced pages, addressing whether the writ should issue.
