ORDER (TEXT ONLY) by Magistrate Judge Karen E. Scott: On 7/24/26, the Magistrate Judge issued an R&R recommending that the Petition be granted and Petitioner released from custody, in part based on a finding that his removal was not reasonably foreseeable. (Dkt. 18.) Objections were due by 7/27/26, and none were filed. However, on 7/29/26, Respondents filed a "Notice of Intended Removal." (Dkt. 20.) The attached "Notification of Removal" signed by Deportation Officer Lajuj states, "You are scheduled for transfer outside the Central District of California on or after 08/07/2026 to effectuate your removal to Kyrgyzstan in accordance with a Final Order of Removal Issued on 02/13/2026." (Dkt. 20-1.) It is unclear if this notice means that (a) on 8/7/26, Respondents plan to transfer Petitioner outside of this District and hold him indefinitely somewhere else while the government seeks travel documents to Kyrgyzstan, or (b) the government has obtained travel documents for Kyrgyzstan and plans to remove Petitioner to that country on 8/7/26.
