MINUTE ORDER (text only) made at the direction of Judge Tana Lin: Petitioner filed his original petition pro se on May 11, 2026 (Dkt. No. 1 ) and an amended petition on May 26, 2026 (Dkt. No. 5 at 9). In the interim, on May 15, 2026, Petitioner filed a second petition in this District, with counsel. See Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus, Esteban Manuel v. Scott et al., No. C26-1661 (W.D. Wash. May 15, 2026). On June 1, 2026, Petitioner, through counsel, successfully moved to voluntarily dismiss that second petition, because he had decided to voluntarily depart and return to Guatemala. See Motion to Dismiss Petition (Dkt. No. 6) at 2, Order Granting Motion to Dismiss (Dkt. No. 8), Esteban Manuel, No. C26-1661. Respondents subsequently filed a Notice of Change of Custody in this case to inform this Court that because Petitioner had accepted voluntary departure, he had been transferred out of district to be staged for removal from the United States. Dkt. No. 8 at 2. In order to determine whether this case has now become moot, the Court ORDERS Respondents to file a notice by August 7, 2026, updating the Court on whether Petitioner has departed from the United States. If Petitioner remains in Respondents' custody, Respondents SHALL provide the Court with an address at which Petitioner can receive mail related to his case. See Dkt. Dkt. No. 8 at 2. Respondents have now informed the Court that Petitioner departed the country on June 10, 2026. Dkt. No. 11 . Accordingly, the Court DISMISSES this case as moot. Abdala v.
