ORDER DENYING 1 Petitioner's Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus without prejudice so that Petitioner may file an amended petition. After reviewing Petitioner's 1 petition, Respondents' 7 response, and Petitioner's 8 reply, the Court finds that Petitioner was provided a bond hearing in January 2026, during which he was denied bond. So his original petition is moot as to petitioning for a bond hearing. That said, Petitioner raises new grounds for his relief in his 8 reply, and essentially argues that his bond hearing was fundamentally unfair. The Court will not consider arguments raised for the first time in a reply brief. Any such arguments as to the fairness of the bond hearing must be advanced as part of a new pleading or motion, and supported by the record, including the transcript from the January 2026 bond hearing. Signed by Judge J. Nicholas Ranjan on 3/27/2026. Signed by Judge J. Nicholas Ranjan on 3/27/2026. Text-only entry; no PDF document will issue. ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE. On 3/27/2026, the Court denied Petitioner's habeas petition, without prejudice to the filing of an amended petition, which properly raises the argument that Petitioner's bond hearing was fundamentally unfair. ECF 9. Since that time, no amended petition has been filed, nor has Petitioner taken any other action in this matter. Accordingly, Petitioner shall respond to this Order by 10/21/2026 and show good cause why this civil action should not be administratively closed. Signed by Judge J. Nicholas Ranjan on 10/14/2026. Text-only entry; no PDF document will issue. This text-only entry constitutes the Order of the Court or Notice on the matter. (pak) (Entered: 10/14/2026)
